News Journal of February 13, 2012: A Reduction Of Prices In A Unresolved Economy

During the weekend the store closing sale at Bay Shore Macy*s continued in clearing their inventory.  The store had all their items on sales at discounts from something of 50 percent to 70 percent the initial pricing. My mother had already taken advantage of it days before when I called her about it. Of course I did not knew about the store closing sale when coming to the South Shore Mall just to purchase a scarf. Visiting the mall isn’t a favorite activity of mine, it is ‘only if you have to’ sort of thing. While shifting through the men’s styled scarves I found myself refolding the selections and placing most of them in neat order.  Some of the previous customers must had left them in an disorganized disarray. My wish  in seeing this assorted collection better, for me to make a good choice since the items were priced at 70% off.
People there might had learn one of the reasons why this major retailer was closing its’ doors this winter. One of the scarves I liked much was initially price at $95.00 excluding sales tax. Even if I was wealthy it is unlikely one would pay that much. At seventy percent off the price, this well-weaved item is around thirty dollars, a bargain-yes, but still a bit too much for me. Two ways of stumbling a business is overpricing and under pricing your goods or services. I did found a nicely patterned scarf initially costing $43, discounted to about 13 dollars. That was all purchased by me. At the busy department store many consumers filling up their arms, taking advantage of scores of varied merchandise.
I wish there was a discount for gasoline. On Long Island I noted gas stations charging upwards to $3.75 per gallon. Nationwide the price of gasoline recently climbed to $3.51 per gallon average. This finding was according to a survey featured yesterday in the International Business Times. Here is a contrast considering the lessening rate of natural gas prices. Because of the current, lower rates gas companies are drilling less. Maintaining drilling wells for gas isn’t inexpensive, a costly procedure which had contributed to environmental and health problems in past times. Because the gas prices continue to drop according to Pittsburgh Tribute-Review gas firms will drill fewer, new wells.

These gas corporations in the past weeks had considered reducing their production. If the demand for natural gas increases contributing to rising prices. Would there be more drilling? To note other, current news millions of US citizens are in probable expectations of hearing the details of President Barack Obama’s 2013 budget plan. He will present it today according to UPI “in a way”, said White House Chief of Staff, Lew Jacobs, “that builds an economy that would last.” One of the focus of the next, fiscal year’s 3.8 trillion dollar budget is upon stirring up manufacturing section, investing in developing a skilled workforce. One of the prospective questions is how many political battles, confrontations will the President have on his proposed budget? In concluding here for the time, good news, a five year old girl was saved, rescued from an deadly avalanche which buried homes in the southeastern Europe country of Kosovo. The rescuers must had worked hard digging for possible survivors. They pulled the girl out of an immediate, crushing, snow cased tomb which had taken nine other lives.
