News Journal of January 15, 2012: Abandoned Ship

Upwards of forty persons are missing, three are confirmed dead this Sunday from a luxury ship disaster on the west coast of Italy. There could be at leash 75 injured in addition due to the possible, poor decisions made by the ship's captain, who was arrested by Italian police, held in jail. The law authorities are contesting the captain according to news sources abandoned the 2000 cabins, 114,500 ton Costa Concordia after he (unintentionally likely) committed the shipwreck causing the huge vassal to tip over on one side. The grave accident happened yesterday. The captain is facing manslaughter charges. The Costa Concordia struck some, unseen, underwater rocks near the coast he attempted port at, leaving a huge gash on one side.
The favorable news is that at leash 4,200 persons are spared in what surviving passengers compared this panic-filled disaster to the 1997 popular film, Titanic. Some 39 persons may had been directly rescued or recovered from the efforts of rescuers. There could be others found from a renewed search today. Those passenagers ordeal may be concluding. However it seems like it could be a long year for the disgraced, ship captain and his first officer whom are facing their time of grim accountability. It is not what you see in the movies, correct? Somehow the captain steered the ship resulting in a 150 tear into her side causing water to flush in greatly. The shipwreck is near the Tuscan coast of Giglio Island.
