News Journal of January 10, 2012: Evening
Should the endeavour of caring and sustaining a family member lead to the death of other relatives? People in Logan, Ohio may wonder how could their fellow residents be murdered over the issue of what to feed an ill woman. This bed-ridden person witnessed a loud, bloody dispute involving her diet related by numerous, news sources including Time and AP News. The fight between the relatives was whatever the terminally ill Darlene Gikey, age 59 should be consuming either an orange or tea and toast. The disagreement motivated Gikey's husband, Paul to shoot dead his own son, and two of Darlene's sisters. Mr. Gikey, age 63 soon later walked outside his home to his front pouch and shoot himself to death in suicide. How sad before Darlene would lose her life to cancer she experienced the lost of her family members from view of her hospital bed. She must had felt helpless in stopping the mayham.
From this news item there is confirmation that home health care for family member could be a daily, stressful matter. We understand it is not easy to cope with, to wait in troubled feelings in grief of a dear relative passing away day by day. I look forward to the future day when no resident will say "I am sick". My hope of that time all of earth's residents would be freed from every ailment, disability and disease. How important for the terminally ill's kin to maintain peaceful relationships, healthy cooperation and communication with one another. My best wishes to all facing these dreadful circumstances of suffering. May they obtain all the comfort, support and good news necessary to help them face the next day in caring for their love ones.
